North West Independent Sector Collaboration
Independent SectorIndependent healthcare providers now perform a large number of surgical procedures for the NHS. Each year tiny proportions of patients may have unexpected complications that require specialised care that can only be provided within critical care facilities. There are no Independent healthcare providers within Lancashire and South Cumbria that have private critical care facilities, hence in the event a patient requires such care they will be safely transferred to the nearest available critical care unit located at an NHS Trust. The Network collaborates closely with its’ IS providers to ensure safe systems and processes are in place locally in caring for their patients and those that may require subsequent urgent transfer to a critical care service. |
North West ForumWe are pleased to have extended the IS Network Forum to include independent collagues from across the NW. Our own IS hospital Matrons, critical care 'leads' and service managers feel using this forum to share issues and explore opportunities to better manage the unexpectedly acutely ill patient within their hospital sites can only be of benefit to patients. If you work in one of the NW IS hospitals and want to know more about this forum then get in touch! |
