Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation is the process of recovering from injury, and for our patient population this may have arisen due to trauma injury and/or critical illness. The process and ability for recovery varies for each individual but typically involves a range of clinical specialists to support a programme to maximise recovery which aims to commence early in hospital.
Our network provides rehabilitation within our critical care units, acute wards, inpatient rehabilitation units and the community.
Many people return home after an acute hospital stay, following rehabilitation assessment, bespoke activities and advice. Some patients have more complex needs requiring prolonged outpatient care or specialist inpatient rehabilitation. These may be provided by a range of NHS rehabilitation services, charities or specialist organisations...
